Codetta Chorus, Ireland
Kathryn O’Callaghan is an award winning soprano from Derry, Northern Ireland. She has studied with Angela Liston, Phillip O’Reilly (RIAM), Una Carlin, Mark Chambers, Sandra Martinovich, Doreen Curran and Nelly Miricioiu.
Kathryn has performed in several production with Northern Ireland Opera, including Verdi’s Macbeth, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Puccini’s Tosca.
Kathryn has given vocal recitals in Dublin and Derry, with a special interest in Lieder and the art songs of Europe. She has also appeared in an Irish language television drama, “Seanchaí” in an acting role.
Kathryn has performed as a soloist in numerous music festivals, special events and community projects, including the Wall2Wall Music Festival, Clipper Race Homecoming Festival, Voices of Ireland, Stroke Odysseys, St Patrick’s Day Concert with BBC Radio and Television.
Kathryn is a member of Codetta, an internationally renowned chamber choir from Derry. She has toured extensively with Codetta worldwide, travelling to Prague, Slovenia, Tuscany, Washington and all around Ireland and the United Kingdom. Kathryn has also made several BBC television and radio appearances, including Songs of Praise, Sounds Classical, Classical Connections, BBC Proms, BBC 1 Northern Ireland and the Irish language programme, “Seacht”.
Kathryn is currently the vocal tutor for three of Northern Ireland’s top colleges in Derry, Thornhill College, Foyle College and St Cecilia’s College.
